Experience
Penny wanted to create a career that she was passionate about, making a difference in people’s lives and empowering people (both men and women alike) to be confident and live their lives without apology. 'Our appearance is so important, it doesn’t just impact how people see us but also how we see ourselves.' While she was studying Beauty therapy she also discovered her love of teaching as a peer tutor. She feels that her job is the perfect blend of advanced treatments and teaching and she absolutely loves what she does. Penny loves teaching (witnessing those “aha” moments) and treating Cooltech, Ulfit and Secret RF (with a love of all things laser thrown in), she also loves working as part of such an incredible team, 'exposure to such talent means I am privileged to learn and grow myself from my team. The most important part of starting each treatment is to listen to the customer. Once you have all the information regarding what the customer needs, how their areas of concern affects their day to day life, you can offer a treatment that will provide an excellent outcome. The most common skin concern she sees is scarring from acne as teenagers. There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding acne with teenagers, 'you are never too young to be educated about your skin and start taking care of it.' Penny highly recommends the complimentary Observ 520 skin analysis technology which is the perfect appointment to book in to start your skin education and making that change you want and need. She also loves taking someone through an entire journey, overcoming challenges together and seeing the positive changes that happen over time. Penny's skincare advice is: 'What you put into our skin is what you get out of it. Skin needs to be nurtured with the right ingredients just like your body does to function at its peak. Almost everyone needs to use a vitamin A serum, which is a FDA approved amazing anti-ageing ingredient, but it can also help with acne, scarring and strengthening the skin!' She also believes that there is no such thing as “too late” to start the journey to feel better about yourself. 'It doesn’t matter if your concern has affected you for 5 months or 50 years, today is the day to make a difference.' Penny's hidden talent is that she has a qualification in fashion design and still design and she sews as a hobby.

Helen
Experience
Helen has a wealth of knowledge and experience in appearance medicine. She was inspired to enter the appearance medicine field after her very first experience with skin was during her teenage years when she was treated successfully by a NZ dermatologist for troubled-blemished skin. Following this positive outcome of clearer skin she had a new found confidence and a desire to want to be able to help others who were troubled by skin conditions. Helen loves working with people and helping them look and feel their best everyday by subtly enhancing their natural beauty. Helen has a sound knowledge and experience treating cosmetic injectables, laser hair removal, pigmentation, red veins, collagen induction with dermal rolling and fractional laser. Her ultimate goal is to make clients feel comfortable and confident in their own skin paying attention to detail.
The consultant process is really important to understand the clients concerns and goals. 'I like to work alongside my clients helping them to achieve their personal skin goals, assessing them holistically taking into consideration internal/external factors that may affect their overall skin and wellbeing. Educating and Empowering my clients to to ensure they make informed decisions towards their skin treatment plan to ultimately give them the best results they desire.' Helen advises it's really important to look after the canvas of the skin. By following a skincare regime at home that will enhance the results gained from a treatment and continue to improve and protect the skin. Using active ingredients in skincare to help make changes at cellular level. Some of her favourite products are ones that contain AHAs & BHas that help to exfoliate and lift away dead skin cells and help promote cellular turnover to reveal a smoother, brighter skin. Vitamin A (retinoids) stimulate collagen production, making them effective at correcting and reducing fines lines and wrinkles. Protecting and nourishing the skin with the use of hyaluronic acid containing moisturisers and a broad spectrum SPF to wear all year around. Nourishing the body on the inside and feeding your skin with balanced diet and supplements fish oil, vitamin c, collagen, zinc to support skin health are important aspects to consider when it comes to looking after the skin.
The most common concern skin concern she treats is correcting facial ageing, including static lines /wrinkles and loss of volume through the mid-face by using a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers to improve these common concerns. I gain a huge satisfaction from my work when I see the amazing results achieved from the use of anti-wrinkle injections used to relax targeted muscles in the upper and lower face that cause the skin to crease, including the 'stressed', 'tired', 'sad', 'worried' facial expressions . Treatment of anti-wrinkle injections to the frown area is a favourite treatment which gives a lift through the brows and softening the lines caused by frowning, taking away the stressed, angry frown.
Helen loves learning! The appearance medicine industry is always evolving and new evidence based research is being developed to ensure we deliver the most up-to-date treatments in the safest possible way. Plus of course working with her colleagues who are like minded and have a passion and commitment to skin and body treatments at Lovely. Finally seeing the amazing results from her customers with their treatments and a new sense of confidence about they way they look and feel about themselves.
