Plump up the volume.

For over 20 years, customers concerned with elements of their appearance have been turning to hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers.

Commonly known as HA fillers, they are a popular choice amongst leading appearance medicine practitioners because they’re so similar to the HA found in the dermal layer of human skin.

Enhance your features!

What’s interesting is that human HA is responsible for approximately 50 percent of the internal ‘scaffolding’ that keeps our skin firm and plump. As we age, we start to notice HA loss and the elements of ageing creeping in sneaky wrinkles; dark circles under our eyes, volume depletion, and drooping of facial contours.

Along with treating common appearance concerns, dermal filler is also used successfully by many to reshape facial contours and enhance facial features including lips and chins.

Before & Afters

After 2m filler to the cheeks - focusing on nasolabial folds and dark circles beneath the eyes. Nasolabial folds (running from the corners of your nose to the corners of your lips) are often caused by midface volume loss in the cheek area. Cheek fillers can help to restore structural support and soften these folds as well as soften the under eye area

Dermal Filler FAQs
Can I have a Dermal Filler treatment if I have had or planning to have a Covid 19 vaccination

Dermal Filler appointments and Covid-19 vaccination need to be at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after a Covid-19 vaccination.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a natural gooey gel-like carbohydrate present in every tissue of the body and provides support, hydration, and promotes collagen formation. It is found abundantly in youthful skin however, declines with age which contributes to volume loss, development of fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, and an overall dullness in facial appearance. By restoring lost volume, re-sculpting facial contours, and enhancing lip volume and definition with HA fillers we can help to restore a more youthful appearance with improved skin texture and hydration (HA holds 1000x it’s own weight in water!)

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are smooth injectable gels made from synthesised hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring clear, gel-like substance found in our skin. Dermal fillers are injected under your skin to replenish lost volume and hydration, diminishing the depth of wrinkles and improving facial contours. At Lovely by skin institute our skilled nurses use a range of fillers made of both thinner gels which are great for filling fine wrinkles as well as thicker gels for re-sculpting facial contours and restoring lost volume in areas such as the cheeks.

What areas do you treat at Lovely?

>Cheeks
>Lips
>Jaw line
>Chin
>Perioral (lip lines)
>Hands
>Nasolabial Folds
>Marionette lines

*Please note: Certain advanced areas are not offered at all clinics

What are the possible side effects?

The nurse will discuss all possible side effects with you during the consultation to ensure that you are well informed prior to undergoing any treatment.

The treated area will initially look red and swollen and feel tender. Swelling settles within hours, rarely lasting 1-2 weeks depending on the area treated and filler used. Bruising may appear 12-24 hours after treatment, especially in those taking aspirin, anti-inflammatories, garlic, and fish oil. Bruising is not harmful and can be covered with makeup while fading over 1-3 weeks. You may see or feel the filler as a firm lump under the skin before softening occurs over 4-6 weeks. Cold sores can be triggered in predisposed individuals and can be prevented by preventative anti-viral medication taken leading up to your treatment. Due to factors like preexisting underlying facial asymmetry, your result may be slightly uneven despite our very best efforts.

Rarely allergy can occur resulting in redness, lumps, and swelling or filler can enter an artery or vein causing an occlusion – this is treated by dissolving the filler with an enzyme. There is a very small risk of infection, treated by antibiotics and dissolving enzymes.

Do Dermal Fillers hurt?

There is often some level of discomfort associated with all injectables procedures, however, this is generally very well tolerated by most customers. Our Dermal Filler range at Lovely contains an ingredient called ‘Lidocaine’ which provides a certain level of local anesthesia to the treatment area once the procedure has begun.

All appearance medicine nurses at Lovely have a sound understanding of anatomy and injectables procedures and will take all measures possible to decrease discomfort throughout. If you are concerned about your comfort throughout the treatment procedure please discuss this with your nurse as there is an optional ‘Numbing Treatment’ cream that can be applied prior to all injectables treatment for an additional cost of $49 – please refer to the Numbing Treatment FAQ’s or protocol for more information on this.

How long until I can see the results?

As Dermal Fillers are an injectable gel-like substance you will see an instant improvement – the true final result however will not be visible until the filler has softened, and all residual swelling/ bruising has settled which may take anywhere from 2-4 weeks post treatment.

What can’t I do after Dermal Fillers?

No international flights for four days.
